Art Directors obsess over how to do both design and execute innovative digital experiences. They know which design principles will work for best-in-class brand, interactive, mobile, and web experiences and they can sell their concepts to management. They’re responsible for leading a team of designers, copywriters, project managers, and other production specialists to successfully translate concepts into leading-edge interactive experiences.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of creative concepts and style guides that adhere to brand standards
  • Manage teams to deliver outstanding interactive visual products
  • Ensure the usability, consistency, brand relevance, and functionality of the finished product
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the latest Adobe Creative Suite, development tools, motion development, and ActionScript
  • Possess a killer portfolio with variety of industries and deliverables represented
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects and remain flexible through multiple revisions while keeping a keen attention to detail
  • Able to work with established brand and experience guidelines to produce visual designs that meet the brief and delight both target audiences and clients alike.
  • Present ideas and concepts to clients or account managers with supporting rationale and thought process explaining how they address business and user needs.
  • Support business development activities such as contributing expert design input to pitches, proposals and client presentations.
  • Ability to translate a vision into a practical plan, and ability to brief and manage a team of Designers and/or teams of different experts (UX, front end development
  • Lead the brand and/or experience strategy and thought leadership for key projects / accounts and help to drive the business success
  • Inspire innovation and great work through managing, mentoring and training a team of creative as well as digital strategists and UX planners (including social, brand, digital, data, content, etc.) and drive best practices and thought leadership while contributing to practice evolution within Squad’s broader digital media offering
  • Extend global communications strategies to digital
  • Refine the digital creative production process
  • Works directly with the Account Managers/Directors and attend clients meeting

Academic qualifications

Interaction Design Degree/Diploma or Graphic Design Degree/Diploma/Certificate or equivalent

Work experience and skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in a digital marketing
  • Strong storyboard skills
  • Excellent knowledge of ecommerce best practices
  • Outstanding skills in Interaction Architecture, typography, animation, style guide creation, video production
  • Passion for interaction design, touch screen design, and mobile platforms
  • Strong understanding of HTML, HTML5, CSS, and Flash
  • To understand usability and navigation issues and integrate these in overall design concept
  • Typesetting, design and layout skills
  • Some knowledge of accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of different digital platforms – web, mobile (iPad and iPhone, BlackBerry, Android), applications
  • A passion for digital design
  • An eye for detail
  • Organized and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Patient and flexible
  • Good communication skills
